AROWRN Launch 2012

May 1, 2012 (Edmonton, Alberta)

It is with great pleasure to announce the launch of the Alberta Rural Organic Waste to Resources Network (AROWRN). After a 2 day Conference hosted at the Alberta Innovates - Technology Futures Auditorium, over 40 Municipal, Provincial, and Federal Agency stakeholders, University Research Scientists and Industry Practitioners attended to help formulate the Goals, Objectives, Strategies, Plans and Actions for AROWRN post 2012.

Converting Municipal bio-mass and grey water into a Natural Resource which can then be used to produce electricity and heat is a well established model with a variety of economic, social, environmental and health benefits.  However, AROWRN takes this model one step further by utilizing popular and willow plantations to maximize efficiency while managing the cost of waste handing.
