Meet Tom Cuppernull — Benchmark Labs Chief Product Officer
2022 MARCH 14 — We are very excited to announce a new addition to the team!
Tom Cuppernull joins Benchmark Labs as Chief Product Officer (CPO) with extensive product experience from Bloomberg LP with a focus on machine learning and data visualization. Let’s learn a little more about Tom…
Why Benchmark Labs?
Benchmark Labs is at an exciting intersection between climate technology and machine learning, with a direct impact on communities most vulnerable to climate change. When I met the team last fall, I was so impressed by their product vision, openness to feedback, and impact-oriented mission. I get excited about creating solutions that help data tell stories and empower people to make better decisions, and am thrilled to be joining the team.
How did your past experience bring you here?
For the past few years, I’ve worked as a senior product manager at Bloomberg LP focused on data visualization applications, and have prior experience as a sales and customer support leader. I was fortunate to have had an incredible team of engineers and was eager to focus on artificial intelligence, apply my academic background in environmental science, and move away from legacy financial technology. When I became aware of Benchmark Labs through the Techstars Sustainability Accelerator, I got in touch with Carlos to learn more about his vision.
What are you excited about for the next year?
After 10 years living in New York City, I recently relocated to Portland, OR, and am excited to start a new chapter of my life in the PNW!
Here at Benchmark Labs, I’m most excited to dive deep into the customer experience, think critically about our ability to create more resilient communities, and be a part of a vibrant team that’s passionate about the work we’re doing. There is a lot to learn and I can’t wait to dive in!
